Preparation & Use
For single servings, add the recommended amount of Abuelita Hot Cocoa Mix to a mug and stir in hot water or hot milk until fully dissolved. For batch preparation, empty a full 2 pound bag into a commercial dispenser or urn, add the appropriate volume of hot water or hot milk, and stir until uniform. The mix dissolves readily in either liquid, and using milk produces a creamier, richer cup while water yields a lighter result. Adjust the mix-to-liquid ratio to taste.
Applications
Beyond the traditional hot cup, Abuelita’s cinnamon-forward cocoa profile works well as an ingredient in chocolate cinnamon bread, Mexican-style brownies, tres leches cake soak, or as a rim dust for cocktail glasses. The mix can also be blended with ice and milk for a frozen hot chocolate beverage, or folded into whipped cream as a spiced cocoa topping for desserts and coffee drinks.
