Preparation & Use
Each pouch prepares quickly on the stovetop, in a steam kettle, or in a microwave. For stovetop, empty the pouch contents into a saucepan and heat over medium, stirring occasionally until the desired serving temperature is reached. Add small amounts of water to adjust consistency if a thinner spread or dip texture is preferred. For steam kettle service, empty directly into the kettle and stir until heated through. Prepared beans hold well in a steam table pan at standard holding temperatures. Once prepared, refrigerate any unused portion and use within a standard refrigerated holding period. Unopened pouches require only cool, dry storage below 80°F.
Common Applications
BAF Seasoned Vegetarian Refried Beans fit naturally into Mexican and Tex-Mex menu programs as a core side and filling, but the product also works as a thickening base for bean soups, a spread for layered dips in party trays, and a component in breakfast burritos or breakfast bowls alongside eggs and potatoes. Because the seasoning is already built in, operators can serve it straight from the pouch without taste-testing and adjusting each batch, which keeps ticket times short during peak service.
