Creamy dairy sauces: Toss with Alfredo, carbonara, or cheese-based sauces that coat the ridges and pool inside the tubes.
Baked pasta dishes: Use in penne bake casseroles with mozzarella, ricotta, and marinara for crowd-feeding trays and buffet pans.
Cold pasta salads: Chill cooked penne with vinaigrette, diced vegetables, olives, and proteins for deli cases and catered events.

Drain and toss immediately with sauce to prevent sticking. For baked dishes, undercook by 2 minutes, combine with sauce and cheese, then finish in a 375 °F oven until bubbly. For pasta salad, rinse drained penne under cold water, toss with dressing while still slightly warm, and refrigerate before serving.
