Barilla Capellini Pasta, 160 Ounce Bag, 2 Per Case
This pasta is made with the finest durum wheat semolina to deliver great taste and ensure an al dente texture your customers crave, every time.
Uses
Light sauce entrees: Toss with olive oil, garlic, and fresh herbs for a classic aglio e olio, or pair with a delicate white wine butter sauce that coats the fine strands evenly.
Seafood pasta dishes: Serve alongside shrimp scampi, clams, or crab where a lighter pasta lets the seafood flavor stay front and center.
Cold pasta salads: Chill after cooking and mix with vinaigrette, diced vegetables, and fresh basil for a refreshing side that holds up on buffets and catering spreads.
Soup and broth accompaniment: Cut into shorter lengths and add to light broths or chicken soup for satisfying texture without heaviness.
Quick service specials: Build fast composed plates during peak hours thanks to the 6 minute cook time and consistent results across batches.

Preparation & Use
Use 4 to 6 quarts of water per pound of pasta. Bring to a rolling boil, add salt to taste, then add the pasta and stir gently. Return to a boil and cook uncovered for 6 minutes for al dente, stirring occasionally, or 7 minutes for a more tender result. Drain well and finish with your preferred sauce or ingredients. For cold applications, rinse under cool water after draining to halt cooking and prevent sticking.
Common Applications
Capellini’s thin profile makes it ideal for dishes where sauce is the star. Use it with simple olive oil and garlic preparations, light tomato sauces, white wine butter sauces, or tossed directly with sauteed seafood. It also works well broken into shorter pieces for soups and broths, or chilled for pasta salads dressed with vinaigrette or light creamy dressings. Avoid heavy, chunky meat sauces that can overwhelm the delicate strands.
